Metallographic Replica

Metallographic Replica is a nondestructive testing method used to examine the microstructure of an intact component. It can provide detailed metallographic information, such as spheroidisation, creep damage, cracking, and grain size. A replica of the component is created at the workplace and then examined by a team of engineers in our laboratory. In-situ metallographic replicas are equivalent in quality to those obtained destructively in laboratories.

Advantages

  • It provides information on the component's thermal history.
  • Estimated range of high temperatures and cooling rates
  • Attainable mechanical characteristics
  • Crack morphology
  • Material, form, and size of the object have no bearing on the inspection.
  • Prolonged exposure to heat.
